Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 28, 2026

buildingcodes is a personal tool operated by KVA Labs that exposes New York City and federal building codes through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). This policy explains what data we handle and why. We collect as little as possible.

The connector is open and unauthenticated — there is no sign-in and no account. We do not collect your name, email, or any identity information.

What we collect

  • Usage logs.We log connector requests — the tool called, the query text, timestamps, and basic request metadata (including IP address) — to operate the service, debug issues, and prevent abuse. These are not linked to any account because there isn’t one.

We do not sell your data, serve advertising, build advertising profiles, or use third-party analytics/tracking beyond what is described here.

Service providers

  • Vercel — hosting and request/runtime logs.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies.

Retention

Usage logs are retained for a limited period for operational and security purposes and then rotated out.

Your choices

You can disconnect the connector from your AI client at any time. With any questions about this policy, email us.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.

Always rely on the official adopted code, not this tool. buildingcodes is a research helper — not the law, and not legal advice. Verify every answer against the official source and a registered architect or engineer.
